2021d

 Final 21d hatchling photo.
🤩

staggered hatch. First five are out they are all E.
The guy on the right has brown markings within the black color. This represents a blue dilute gene, bl.
beautiful markings.

The second two out are also big E.

UPDATE: Last four eggs are hatching today 10-8-21

Four more hatched overnight.
This guy. Pip was on the very top of the round side of the egg. Why is this worthy of mentioning? Because he was to large for the egg. His beak was only able to touch the top and was not in proper position to be able to use his wing as a guide for hatch.
His comb was actively bleeding through the pip. So I removed some shell. The membrane was dry and no vessels had blood. I moistened him up with warm water. And pull it off his eye.
He is too big for this egg!!!!!!

He is out now. I laid down some napkins to allow him be cuddled. He made it through the night and his comb is not bleeding anymore.
More pics soon.

I peeled back

end of August

So the end of August has come. Cooler temperatures have arrived. Tomorrow we're going to start getting the remnants of the hurricane running at about 5" of rain. So today is a bit cloudy a bit cool, perfect weather for chickens to be in the yard. I have I have yet to feed them their daily ration so they're hanging around me. Very hungry. They look good, everybody looks healthy.

Eye dermal melination in chickens.

Amazing this eye color. This is genetics I never have researched.  So amazing. I love spending some QT with the young ones so to pick out the best attributes for choosing my next generation of breeder. This was a surprise.  If anyone has information please DM me.
